Went up for a quick trip tonight, and our elevator operator, Heather, dropped a little knowledge. But only after I requested the speel. She said the Needle was as tall as 1,450 tall lattes. That's some good trivia.

I'm glad there are no nasty comments in the SoundOff section yet for your P-I article. I haven't been up there in such a long time, probably since I was a young child. I've always enjoyed my short trips to the observation deck at the Columbia Tower or Smith Tower, too, though.
